Organization: College for International Co-operation and Development
Are you ready for a new challenge? Do you want to learn and explore? Do you want to work together with others to make the world a better place?
Then our programme „Fighting with the Poor“, is for you.
In a group with other activists you can do your best to help those in need.
The College for International Co-Operation and Development offers 18 and 24 month courses of „Fighting with the Poor“ and a 14 months course called „Development Instructor in Action“.
In the six month period spent on the projects you can work with:
- Education of children and adults in Preschools, Primary schools and Teachers Training Colleges
- Training of youth in vocational schools
- Environmental preservation and water projects
- Farming: working with small scale farmers to improve production in sustainable ways
- Health campaigns: prevention of HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis
Course fees apply to cover the costs of food and accommodation, while here at CICD. In Africa or India the costs are covered by the school.
Our courses start every year in January, May, August and November. We also have an on-going scholarship programme called the Gaia Course, so you can join without a lot of money.
To join us you have to be over 18, own a European passport and have finished 12 years of school. No previous experience is needed! We welcome people from all ages and backgrounds and have a very colorful bunch of students and teachers.
After finishing the course you can also choose to become one of the teachers at the school and maybe head back to Africa or India.
